For a couple of months now a new Social Network has been active and slowly building. Its a Social Network for Lottery Players. A place where those of us who love the lottery and sign up, meet and have fun with others who love to play.

Dozens of members are active and sharing funny stories and tips on which is the best lottery, which has the best payouts.

I’ve also received an email from two members who told me they we’re chatting on the system for weeks and discovered after a while that they live 2 blocks apart. They met up and are now dating!…. this is great and good luck to them both.

So if you love lottery and love people, stop by and meet other lottery players.

This is both a heart warming and sad story of a lottery winner from the Florida State Lotto

On September 3, 1988, Sheelah Ryan of Winter Springs made Florida Lottery history when she won the then largest Lottery prize ever awarded to an individual player. Ryan the 10th FLORIDA LOTTO™ winner won $55.16 million when she chose the numbers, 3, 5, 19, 20, 27 and 35.

With her Lottery winnings, Ryan developed the Sheelah Ryan Foundation Inc., a charity that helps many people in Seminole County - senior citizens, abused spouses, and women and children struggling to survive. The foundation also provides scholarships to students in Seminole County schools.

In 1994, at age 69, Ryan lost her fight with cancer. However, through the efforts of her family members, close friends and funds provided by her Lottery winnings, Ryan’s philanthropic vision lives on.

Quick post here… since people keep asking me how to buy lottery tickets online. This is a big problem for people like us who love to play lottery, why because some silly state laws and international gambling laws mean you must be a resident to be eligable to buy tickets.

Now of course in 2008 there are ways around this. Now there are companies who have a network of operatives around the world ready to go out and buy your tickets for you. The ticket is real, the system safe and the payout by proxy is completely legal since its always a legal resident who buys the ticket.

I’ve been using theLotter for over a year since it means I can take part in any lottery anywhere in the world. I’ve also become an agent for them… what does this mean, well when you order a ticket for the Mississippi Lottery, its probably me who heads down to the store and purchases your numbers.

Here we go again, bragging about my lottery expertise, wisom and winnings :-)

Last night I placed my biggest spread on a range of USA state lotteries. I had one of those moments when a feeling in my gut made me change some last minute decisions and place the lions share of my investment on one lottery. I chose the Arizona lottery, one of the biggest in the USA but for me, traditionally one of the worst. Over the last year i’ve played it less and less since they seem to just accept my cash and never reward me for my dedication and devotion :-)

Anyhow, last night I had that feeling and spread $100 accross a few game cards…. somehow I knew something would happen, and sure enough it did. I was out with my wife enjoying a quick snack at Wendy’s (sorry, but I just love their pancakes maple, I also love the fact that their tv is always showing lottery numbers coming in) Sure enough I had to contain my ecstasy and be careful not to choke on pancake number 6 when 5 numbers came rolling in. I netted $75,000 !!! will it change my life? probably not, but a nice holiday for the family has been booked and my overdraft paid off…

The Florida Lottery is one of the biggest lotteries in the great United States of America. I may be a little biased since of all the lotteries I play each week (currently stands at 10 USA Lotteries, the UK National Lottery and the French Loto) this is the one that i’ve won the most often.

The Florida lottery offers a range of game types and subsequent payouts, each week I invest around $20 and on average (yes I have a spreadsheet to do the maths for me) I have won $55 per week over the last 6 months…

Since I posted last month about the Powerball Lottery i’ve been asked by readers and friends which one I was referring to, since when they visited the lottery ticket website they found many. This is true that most USA state lotteries include a powerball game and many other international lotteries include the Powerball Lottery as their main big ticket.

Why, I don’t know, I guess the obvious answer is the name is strong, in infers something big, powerful and this is what gets us excited to buy tickets.

Well, back to question at hand. I was referring to the New Zealand National Lottery game, where their payout is huge (even when you convert the numbers to USD!) Surprise surprise I’ve also written a Squidoo Lens about the New Zealand Powerball Lottery, you can click that link and find out more.

Proof that winning the lottery does not need to change your life (that much). What would you do if you won £6.9 Million in a single lottery payout?

Read more stories at www.thelotter.com or please visit our Lottery Social Network and share your lottery winning stories. It doesn’t matter if you’ve won 10 or a million dollars / pounds / euros, if you’ve won you know the feeling of winning, share your experiences with the world.

A train driver, who won a £6.9 Million (US$12.8 Million) lottery fortune playing Euro Millions, has booked a return ticket and gone back to work on the railways.

“After the win I went on holiday to various resorts abroad but I couldn’t see myself doing that for the rest of my life. We went to Greece, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Spain but after a few months of holidays I was itching to get back to work.”

Prance failed a medical to return as a train driver but was so desperate to work that he retrained for another job with Arriva Trains and now works as a £600-a-week resource manager.
“I was disappointed to be told that I could not go back as a driver because my hearing wasn’t 100%, but then they offered a job in the offices and I was thrilled to take it because it meant I was working with trains and my old workmates again.”

Prance and wife Gillian, also 50, left their terraced house in Splott, Cardiff, and now live in a £64,000 luxury caravan in the seaside resort of Trecco Bay, Porthcawl.

Prance, father-of-three, won £6.9 Million in October last year, a share of a massive £88 Million (US$163 Million) Euro Millions Jackpot.

“I could have bought a holiday home anywhere in the world, but we love our caravans more. I’ve been coming to Porthcawl since I was a little boy and always dreamed of having my own luxury caravan there. I feel so lucky.”

The couple gave their three-bedroom house in Splott, Cardiff, to daughter Sarah, 19, and paid off the mortgages of sons Lee, 30, and Ian, 27.
