Italian lottery and gaming operator Gruppo Lottomatica has released its financial results for the first nine months of 2008 showing an 83 percent rise in net income to $134.62 million from last year’s $73.67 million. Revenues for the group over the nine months rose 15 percent to $1.77 billion from $1.54 billion in 2007 while earnings before tax increased to $725.56 million from $687.44 million last year.
It seems that the lottery industry is the only industry that just ‘keeps on truckin’… I think this is due to the fact that playing the lottery, in this case the Italian lottery, takes very little effort and potentially provides very high reward. Online Italian lottery can be played from the comfort of your home.

There is an interesting phenomenon during a financial crisis in relation to the lotto industry. Ironically, the lotto industry is not affected by the financial crisis at all. If anything, consumers are playing the lotto more during a financial crisis with the hope of drawing the winning numbers. Many say that a few dollars a week spent on a lotto ticket is money well spent.
Lotto always is said to be a harmless attempt for easy money, a last resort to earn big. In today’s global village, access to the lotto is available online, making the lotto easier to play than ever.
